Criticizing someone's personal opinion on a game... by stating they are an age inferior to yours is not a correct way of going about things.

Also.... that totally sounds like you're a 20year old. ;)

Well, the old ones were good by their time's standards, and had co-op gameplay.

Haven't played it myself, so can't really say much more than that.

And as far as that IGN comment is concerned.. We don't even score the games, just put a price tag value on them (note here that this pre-dates that system), it's up to the reader to take our opinion and do whatever he wants with it.

Irony. This game is hard and dull as the original. How can you not like it? This game failed because it stayed too much like the original MINUS the new counter system. Also half of his explanation to your "review" you just ignored the mans points. Yes it is a bad game, but don't be a drama queen you sound like IGN. My rating? 5.5/10.

Of course I only concentrated on the worst elements of the game, because that's all there is to it. This game has 0 redeeming qualities.
And "the way its intended. like an old arcade game." Sorry, but good old arcade games don't play like crap like this. Taking for example... I dunno.. GOLDEN AXE... Yeah, that's a good one. It was a simple beat 'em up, it was hard but it was rewarding. How Beast Rider seems to you like a "good old arcade game" is beyond me.

Go on playing horrible games like this if you want, no problem, some people like that. While you're playing sucky games, I'll be over here playing good ones.

After reading your review I couldnt help but comment. its seems you focused only on the worst elements of each catagory, as though every gamer is exactly the same as you and has the same playing style. also its as if your giving a book report after only reading the prologue.
i do wholeheartedly agree that this game suffers from a few issues, most notably and dissapointing is the lack of multiplayer, the character selection would be nice but they chose to focus on one angle of the story with cameos by the other two.
but for some ppl this game has gone over very well. I personally am on the fence, i wish it was better but i cant say i didnt enjoy it.
for instance if you had progressed farther both spells level up twice giving you a total of 6 spells to use, the last levels being very big. the camera i thought was wonderfull, but requires a steady thumb, just like the look controls in flight sims you only use it when needed and be precise, half turns whole presses, but when mastered i was able to see anything fairly quickly.
now as far as spell casters being off camera, you can sometimes avoid it by positioning the enemys yous fighting between you and them and quick spinning the view behind you and low. that works ok, but the pummeling with spells is annoying, with a combination of that trick and listening for there cast, its not so bad.
i dont know what you mean by the countering being off and random, it took practice but i can reach titanic 350% easily. i can block or evade as well as brutal counter 9 out of 10 attemps to hi me. it just takes practice.
and there are more immpressive beasts as you go, quite a few.
now i agree the game can be unbalanced and unfair, but think of it this way, combat isnt fair, odds are against you, and you cant always see where something is coming from. but with strategy, and persistance it is overcomable. beating this game quickly become a realtime battle against the odds. a fight to survive, and there is nothing more satisfying than delivering the final blow on death adder, knowing your character was no more skilled than when you delivered your first blow on the first enemy. it was a very odd choice in todays market to not incorporate character advancement ( except spells). but that means you as the player must get better, it becomes your skill not your character.
it takes practice, fine timing; a steady hand; and a qwik eye to play this the way its intended. like an old aecade game.
could it possibly be you didnt play enough to get the practice. that it was your timing that was random, that your control was unsteady; and your eye was not seeing each enemys tells, it was more than just colors.
