Games coming out in April 2009
There it is. The time of the month where I look to the future and see what games are coming in the next month.
Well, as of now March was a fine month, and still has a few noteworthy releases coming. Will April stand up to the pretty good releases of March?
Well, not really. There’s not much of note coming out, but I still squeezed out a few releases for the list.
Check it out! As always, all the multi-platform releases are at the bottom, and if I missed something just tell me in the comments! And if it’s a japanese game you’ll see (IN JAPAN) written next to the title of the game.
Read it!
DS
New iteration: DSi

Yay, now we get a new DS, full with camera, and… another camera… and an SD slot to download stuff on(from DSware)! And a new user interface. Okay, I’m not really excited about this, and I won’t be buying it anytime soon, but if there’s some DSi exclusive titles that look really badass I’ll be all over it. But for now nothing great seems to be coming for it.
Dokapon Journey

I was looking for games to add to the list… An RPG with a bunch of random minigames… Looks potentially interesting. Maybe…
Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier

The series takes a different turn this time, and becomes a more traditional RPG instead of an SRPG. Could be interesting.
Dragon Ball Z: Story Saiyajin Raishuu (IN JAPAN)
(no box art)
On RPG with DBZ characters… nothing more to say >_>(covers the saiyan saga)
PSP
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus

It’s Guilty Gear! Of course it’s gonna be awesome! The latest revision for Guilty Gear XX. Could hold you off until BlazBlue… Kliff and Justice are back and a modified Survival mode(with RPG elements) too. This will ALSO be available on the PS2(not gonna start a PS2 list for one game).
Dragon Ball: Evolution
(no box art)
Based on the upcoming “INCREDIBLY BAD!!!!!” Live Action Dragon Ball movie. Maybe the game could be better? Of course it will be, almost anything is better than that piece of crap movie.
PS3
NOTHING. Read on though, there’s a few for the PS3 in the Multi-Platorm list.
Well, there IS Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete with the Final Fantasy 13 demo coming… (you can pre-order it in the side-bar on the right)
360
Ninja Blade

This was on the list for March but I removed it, as it was delayed. Well, doesn’t mean it’s gonna be any good. Button Mashing most of the time, doing lame QTEs the rest of the time. What a bad game >_>
DeathSmiles (IN JAPAN)

An import that got me excited. But sadly I’m not gonna be playing it because it’s damn expensive to import(moreso if you get the super expensive limited edition bundle). But it should still be interesting playing a shmup with Gothic Lolita girls. If you like wasting money, check this out! Cave shmups are usually pretty good.
Wii
Samurai Shodown Anthology

Samurai Shodown is a pretty fun fighting game series, and this Anthology brings you 6 games in the series. Cool stuff.
Excitebots: Trick Racing

*facepalm*… Well, it’s a sequel to Excite Truck, apparently. It’s also coming with those lame Wii Wheels.
Monster Hunter G (IN JAPAN)
(no box art)
APPARENTLY this is just a port of some sort of the PSP game Monster Hunter Freedom. Not that I like Monster Hunter, or think that it’s any good at all, but it’s pretty damn popular anyways so it’s on the list. Not sure if this will get a US release before Monster Hunter 3, but whatever…
PC
Demigod

An RTS… It’s been getting a bit of hype, though I never really followed it.
Multi-Platform!
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 (PS3/360)

Yeah, I know, it was on the list for March, but it was delayed. So it should be out in April.
Flock (PS3/360/PC)
(no art)
A game about flocking sheep. Seems a bit weird, but it’s being a bit hyped… we’ll see…
The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (360/PC/PS3)

The demo was a bit underwhelming. My expectations weren’t that high, but I was expecting a bit more considering how much this is getting hyped… But it should still be a pretty good game, and the inclusion of a revamped Escape from Butcher Bay is pretty cool too. *edit* seems like PS3 owners won’t have to wait at all.
The Godfather IIĀ (PS3/360/PC)

This was originally on my February list, but now it’s coming in April. Not really intesrested, but fans of the series should like it.
Velvet AssassinĀ (360/PC)

I didn’t see lots of info about this, but it looks interesting and it’s a bit hyped. Stealth gameplay, assassinations… this could be good.
