Borderlands DLC Plans

Over at Shacknews are a couple of mentions on the DLC that is planned for Borderlands. Sadly, there is only hints and promises.
First is the quote given by CEO Randy Pitchford on what their plans on the development of said DLC,
People are going to be surprised when they find out how quickly we’re coming, and with what content we’re coming. Also, we’re going to watch and see what happens when the game launches, so we can have our plans affected by what our customers want more of.”
Another quote by Pitchford is quote more interesting and can be found on his Twitter page,
What happens a lot of the time is you finish your game and it’s time for cert, and during cert a lot of bugs crop up that you have to fix, and a lot of them are really, really big bugs. You are certainly not adding any content to the game at all. A level? No way.
But, during cert, if you have a lot of level designers who have nothing to do–which is pretty common, you pull level design and art off first–they’re gonna be making cool shit and want to make cool shit. That cool shit, that tends to be what DLC ends up being. It’s the stuff we couldn’t add to the game because we’re making it during cert, which is impossible to get into the [retail] game.
Personally, I am hoping for a handful of new quests that will keep me busy for the coming months. Just hope it isn’t as disappointing as plenty of other examples we have seen.

I’m pretty excited for this game. Though I don’t like the idea of them planning DLC before even releasing the game, unless said DLC is planned for much later launch.
That last paragraph though just tells me “the DLC will be stuff we wanted to add to the final game, but we’ll hold the content back and make you pay for it later”…. which sucks.
Yea….but all we can do is hope it is worth it.
Are you getting it on the ps3? I have it preorded for 360.
I don’t know, I might get it on PC since it’s gonna be less expensive and I frankly don’t really like controlling FPS games with a controller >_>
Actually I believe it’s mandatory for a game to plan it’s DLC before it releases on Xbox. I think it’s in the terms or something to that effect. What is lame is when it’s on the release of the disc and all your Downloading months down the road is a key that unlocks said DLC from the game you already have.
Xbox here btw.
Games Need DLC or some other form of etra content to survive past release imo since once people finish it and not saying borderlands will be boring once u “finish” the last mission but most the time u want more than just wat they have sold u initially i reckon borderlands has the potential to be the next fallout and wat i mean by this is lots of dlc and a whole series but thats my opinion
I hope so.
