Hey all. As you may have noticed, I got Bioshock 2 weekends ago. Special edition! (you can see pictures in my gallery) Here are my impressions on it so far. Totally favorable.

If you’ve played and liked the first Bioshock, chances are you will like this one too. It’s more of the same! And that’s not a bad thing. Remember this game had a pretty high review rating back in the day, which usually indicates that a decent quantity of people enjoyed it. It may feel a bit weird to be totally underpowered as a big daddy or even use a whole lot of plasmids. But somehow, you’ve been out of commission for 10 or so years only to come back to life. Rapture overrun by splicers. You get to see new areas of rapture, some look familiar but essentially you’re not walking in the same areas of this underwater utopia or what became of it rather. I’ll not dig much deeper into this as I plan on reviewing the game once I’m done with it.

So what have I been doing? Much like in the first one, I’m a goody two shoes. Rescuing Little Sisters and sparing lives whenever I can. I play a bit more cautiously however. It seems like I can’t take the pain as much as in the first one. I am doing something differently this time around. In Bioshock I hardly did any research whereas in this game, I am doing to the point that I’m almost OCD about it. I want to get those extra tonics and gain all those little perks from researching splicers, big daddies and what ever else I can research. As of last night I have fully researched 4 enemies. The Big Daddy being one of them. I will make an effort to work the Big Sister in but I often forget. She’s so terrifying!

I glanced at other people saying the drill wasn’t any good but I’d have to disagree. In any case, a real review will be coming up!
