Games coming in April 2010

March 20th, 2010

March was a pretty hard-hitting month, with lots of huge releases across all consoles. Obviously April won’t compare…

But I wasn’t expecting such a low number of note-worthy releases. PS3, Xbox 360, PSP and PC get no interesting exclusive releases, so we’re left with just a few interesting multi-platform releases, 3 DS releases(including 1 japanese release), and 2 Wii releases. A very slow month indeed.

It might be a small month, but still, come and check what are the interesting games coming in April 2010!

As usual, Multiplatform releases first, ordered by date, and if the game is a japanese release it is marked accordingly.

Xbox 360 Review – Battlefield: Bad Company 2

March 18th, 2010

Bad Company 2. A sequel to the multi player FPS I played the most on the xbox. Well okay, maybe a close second to Halo 3 and Left 4 Dead. I loved this game, probably more than the later two actually. Even though it didn’t have any split screen, I invited people over and we played the crap out of the first one. You can check my stats on BF:BC’s website. (Gamertag MnM333 on Xbox360) But again, Bad Company did something the other Battlefields didn’t do. Kind of the reverse to what most FPS do actually. Most single player FPS needlessly add a multi player option. Well, Bad Company added single player to this multi player behemoth, not a huge undertaking. But they managed to keep those multi player elements in the single player. More after the jump!

Games coming in March 2010

February 19th, 2010

March has some pretty cool releases, including one of the most awaited games in years.

There’s lots of good releases, a few that aren’t too great, but overall it seems like it should be a really good month. Let’s go and see what March has in store for us gamers, shall we?

As usual, the multi-platform releases are toghether, the exclusive releases are in their own sections, and japanese releases are marked accordingly.

PS3 review – Dark Void

February 13th, 2010

I played the demo for this game, and let’s just say I was less than impressed. It went from a “possible buy if I find it for 20$” to a “maybe I’ll rent it one day”. The demo, to be totally honest, was terrible. This brought down my hype for the game to zero.

So when I rented it (using GameAccess, a Canadian equivalent to GameFly), my expectations were as low as can be.

So does this surpass expectations, or is the final game just as lame as the demo? Read my review and see! (hint: it’s not a positive review)

360 Review – The Saboteur

January 23rd, 2010

Pandemic is best known for their actions titles, especially for the Star Wars: Battle Front series as well as the zany humorous game Destroy All Humans! and recently has been the victim of termination by Electronic Arts. To some this comes as a major surprise considering the popularity associated with their games. No matter your views on Pandemic’s catalog it is saddening to see a company that had been with us for over a decade officially close it doors this past year.

Games coming in February 2010

January 16th, 2010

The year had a pretty good start, but things seem to be continuing pretty well for February.

As usual, I’m not listing all the games coming, just the interesting ones. And no, there’s no interesting Xbox 360 exclusives in February as far as I can tell.

Read on and see what February has in store!

Dragon Age Origins’ Awakening expansion releasing this March

January 5th, 2010

Get new party members, spells and abilities in this full expansion to Bioware’s last year’s effort.

I haven’t put much time in that game since I have plenty of time-sinks  to keep me busy already, but for those that didn’t get enough from Origins can expect new content, on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 16th.  Here’s the interesting part from the press release:

Designed and written by the same team that brought you Dragon Age: Origins, the Awakening expansion pack offers a brand new area of the world to explore known as Amaranthine, featuring an epic story that will allow players to unravel the secrets of the darkspawn – and their true motivations! Players will face a range of horrific and terrifying creatures including an evolved, intelligent breed of darkspawn and other menacing creatures such as the Inferno Golem and Spectral Dragon. Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening provides exciting new ways for players to customize their heroes and party, including the ability to re-spec their character attributes, allowing even greater customization and replayability. Featuring an increased level cap, new spells, abilities, specializations and items, plus five all-new party members, players can continue their adventures from Dragon Age, or begin with a brand new party.

“Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening shows BioWare’s commitment to our fans by delivering new story-driven experiences which enrich the dark heroic fantasy universe our fans have come to know and love,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group, EA, and Co-Founder, BioWare. “The vibrant worldwide community of Dragon Age fans will relish uncovering the secret motivations of the darkspawn, revealing how the darkspawn continue to infest the world despite the defeat of the Archdemon.”

This time around, you’ll be in control of a Grey Warden Commander in charge of rebuilding their order and uncovering the mysteries of the darkspawns’ survival after the defeat of the Archdemon dragon.

The expansion will cost you $39.99, so expect plenty of content.

Meanwhile, it seems the Return to Ostagar add-on is released today for $5.

December 27th, 2009

Well, we’re done with our Game of the Year posts. Before we do anything else, let’s just do a quick summary of this year’s posts.

Last year we had a really crappy system for our GotY posts, but this year we almost seem *gasp* professional! Which I think is really cool.

So let’s go and look at all of the posts! Read on and check all the links!
