As usual I do a quick impressions post about all the big 3 conferences. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are showing stuff and I’m just giving my opinion.
I’ll try to do something different from my usual inconsistent ranting… I’ll list the positives and negatives or whatever, with short comments, and then my overall impressions.

Not much to say here, May has basically nothing coming out. This’ll be quick. 1 3DS release, 5 multiplats, nothing else.
Usual disclaimer: Those include either games I’m interested in, or games that may be/become popular… Basically anything I feel bears mentioning, whether I’m personally hyped for it or not.

I’ve spewed my hate on this terrible game a few times before, and gave my insanely negative impressions of the terrible demo, and now I’m doing it again!… I actually played through most of the game (I have 2 missions left), so now I can give a more legit opinion.

This is a pretty empty month surprisingly, but there’s a couple cool releases upcoming… Oh, and kickstarter backers such as I will be getting their OUYA consoles near the beginning of the month so you can expect a post where I’ll bash the console! … Probably.
Either way… In April we’re getting: 2 3DS titles, a Vita game, a PS3 game, a 360 game and 3 multiplats. As I said, slow month.

Well I got this game for free (through the “Never Settle Reloaded” promotion by AMD) and I figured I’d play it once for maybe an hour and never touch it again, because every preview I’ve seen has been pretty… meh. I mean, whatever, it’s free, I might as well check it out.
So I was pretty surprised when I ended up not only not hating the game, but actually liking it and playing it through to the end… Which is weird.

Well this has been a slow month of posting… I’ve been playing a couple RPGs so I haven’t really had time to post too much at all (gameplay time is low when you have a full-time job). Ni No Kuni and Fire Emblem reviews still possibly upcoming though, eventually I might actually play those to completion.
On that note, let’s talk about upcoming releases in March! Here we’re getting: 4 3DS games, 3 PS3 games, 2 PC games, a 360 game, 1 Wii U games, a Vita game, a Wii game, and finally 6 multiplatform games… OH and I think the Ouya is coming out for kickstarter backers in March… but who cares?

Wow. Just… Wow. I can’t believe such a bad game is getting SO much hype online. It understandably came out to basically no fanfare (the marketing just showing another vapid third-person military shooter with nothing to separate itself from any other game of its style), but a few months later I find that people online won’t shut up about it.
So in November 2012 I found a fairly “good” deal for it on GreenManGaming, where it cost me 6$ to buy the Steam version, so I figured I’d give it a chance and finish it (here’s my achievements for the game, just in case you think I’m bullshitting you).
So let’s talk about this piece of crap and I’ll hopefully explain why I think it’s horrible!

I’m posting this early, because I predict my free time may be taken by Ni No Kuni this week (if I receive it this week)… I do have a few other upcoming posts, but we’ll see if I’ll ever have time to do that.
February is giving us: 2 great 3DS games, 6 multiplat releases, 1 Wii U release and 1 Vita release. A couple of quality releases here.

Good non-Mario kart racers are rare (though I haven’t played LBPKarting yet so maybe that’s another good one), but it’s always fun to see them. This is a sequel to the 2010 Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing, which was a solid racing game for sure.
So… let’s just jump in straight into the review!
Note that I played both the Wii U and Vita versions, but they’re essentially identical so take it as a review for any of the currently-released versions (as of January 13th 2013)….
Other note, I’m calling this Sonic Kart 2 from now on, hope you don’t mind.

It is the dawn of a new generation in the video game industry. The first console of the 8th generation, the Wii U, just came out, and… we have no idea what the competition is doing!
But I figured I’d take this occasion to… basically make a wishlist of what I’d personally want the gaming industry to change this generation. Or rather, I’ll rant about a couple things that I believe are harming the industry.
It’s no secret that the 7th generation, while it did have a nice handful of amazing games, was an abysmal time for the gaming industry, even though it’s never been this profitable at least at the beginning of it (I say at the beginning because so many studios have been getting shut down recently and games progressively need to sell impossible amounts of copies to be profitable anymore, to the point where many million-sellers don’t even see a profit anymore). Just a lot of small or not-so-small things that happen in the industry that really bother me or give me a really bad feeling as to where it’s going.
So here are the things I hope the industry will change during this new generation!
