Well, we’re done with our Game of the Year posts. Before we do anything else, let’s just do a quick summary of this year’s posts.

The Wii had a pretty slow year this time. It did get a few good games, but the year was mostly filled with shovelware.

Huh…. Surprising. This is actually the first time I buy something on the Wii Shop Channel. And it’s also not a disappointing buy at all.

Contra is a great series. Namely renown for 4 things: awesome run n’ gun gameplay, awesome weapons, high difficulty and of course the famous Konami Code. Starting in the arcade and later being ported to the NES, it was a huge game in the industry and one of the more popular series of the time.

So… is Contra Rebirth a proper rebirth, or does it fail to live up to the name?
