Still being slow on my reviews because, again, not playing a whole lot of stuff, and at this point what I AM playing I’ve either already reviewed, or have been out for a couple months so aren’t really worth reviewing…
So JUNE! E3 time, fuck yeah! Sony will show their launch plans for the PS4 (which I really hope turns out okay), Nintendo will reveal a bunch of Wii U games and make it worth buying… Oh and Microsoft will fail to redeem themselves after their horrible reveal.
But there’s also a couple releases: 2 for 3DS, 1 PS3 exclusive, 2 Vita games (whoa!), 2 Wii U games (WHOA!!!!) and 2 multiplats.
Usual disclaimer: Those include either games I’m interested in, or games that may be/become popular… Basically anything I feel bears mentioning, whether I’m personally hyped for it or not.

Not much to say here, May has basically nothing coming out. This’ll be quick. 1 3DS release, 5 multiplats, nothing else.

Well I got this game for free (through the “Never Settle Reloaded” promotion by AMD) and I figured I’d play it once for maybe an hour and never touch it again, because every preview I’ve seen has been pretty… meh. I mean, whatever, it’s free, I might as well check it out.
So I was pretty surprised when I ended up not only not hating the game, but actually liking it and playing it through to the end… Which is weird.

Well, let’s compensate with my lack of recent posting with a quick review of a newly-released game!
I’m actually not a big Metal Gear fan. I played through MGS1 and most of MGS4, and that’s about it. But this one is really interesting to me because I love these high-impact badass action games in the style of DMC, and what’s cooler than playing one of those as a badass cyborg ninja? And that fact that this was made by Platinum Games… okay, you’ve got my attention.
So… let’s talk about this game now that I already finished it twice!

Wow. Just… Wow. I can’t believe such a bad game is getting SO much hype online. It understandably came out to basically no fanfare (the marketing just showing another vapid third-person military shooter with nothing to separate itself from any other game of its style), but a few months later I find that people online won’t shut up about it.
So in November 2012 I found a fairly “good” deal for it on GreenManGaming, where it cost me 6$ to buy the Steam version, so I figured I’d give it a chance and finish it (here’s my achievements for the game, just in case you think I’m bullshitting you).
So let’s talk about this piece of crap and I’ll hopefully explain why I think it’s horrible!

I’m posting this early, because I predict my free time may be taken by Ni No Kuni this week (if I receive it this week)… I do have a few other upcoming posts, but we’ll see if I’ll ever have time to do that.
February is giving us: 2 great 3DS games, 6 multiplat releases, 1 Wii U release and 1 Vita release. A couple of quality releases here.

A new year, yay! While 2012 was a bit low on amazing titles, I have some hopes for 2013 being pretty fun.
The first month of the year gives us: 3 multiplat games, 1 PS3 game, 1 3DS game, 1 PC game and 1 Vita game. Not a whole lot of stuff, but let’s see if there’s anything cool shall we?
Usual disclaimer: Those include either games I’m interested in, or games that may be/become popular… Basically anything I feel bears mentioning, whether I’m personally hyped for it or not. No “shovelware” here.

I was in the first few to be furious about the new direction this game seemed to be taking once it was first revealed, what with destroying the current DMC universe for a bad new one and it being made by Ninja Theory.
I since calmed down on this, realizing that, well, if the gameplay ended up being fun, then whatever. All the early gameplay videos made the game look like complete crap, but on the flip-side more recent videos were a lot more convincing that this might not be a completely terrible game, and I even put up a pre-order for it.
And then I played the demo. Big mistake on Capcom’s part, because now they lost my money, and hopefully more than that.
Read on if you want to see me ranting about crap!

I’ve been hearing a pretty high amount of praise for a game that, a few years ago when first announced as a “True Crime” game, looked to be pretty boring. Fast-forward to the True Crime game to be taken over by Square Enix as the publisher, renamed to “Sleeping Dogs” and getting close to release… it was generating a lot of buzz and getting positive reviews across the board and it caught my attention.
All the positive views on this made me pretty curious (though very skeptical, as I always am with games that get so positively reviewed… since they generally end up being REALLY bad), so I decided to rent it. And, surprisingly, I actually enjoyed the short part of the game I’ve played.
Keep in mind I haven’t played anywhere near the whole game, so I’ll keep this short and simple… Read on!

Borderlands! I LOVE the first game. It’s really fun, very replayable and it’s one of the only games this gen that got the idea of DLC right. I hear the multiplayer was great too, but I wouldn’t know, I soloed the thing… multiple times.
I’ve been quite hyped for the sequel, which looked amazing in every preview. I finally played through it (and then some) and I think I can give my final verdict on it now.
So read on and see if the sequel is as awesome as the original!
