Well, all has been said and done… The three major conferences of E3 are over. So let’s go over what we saw!

Microsoft were the first to have their Conference and theirs was certainly a very interesting one. Beatles Rock Band was the first of many games to be show, with the remnants of the band showing up on stage to promote the game based upon their work. It should be worth looking into if you’re a fan of the Beatles and you like your music games. After that, Tony Hawks came onto the stage to endorse and promote his new game – Tony Hawk Ride. Another game that doesn’t look too appealing to me, but then again I’ve never actually liked skateboarding games.

Next up was the Modern Warfare 2 trailer and playthrough… Very clean and crisp graphics on a snowy mountainside, seen as we’re climbing it. Things are slow at first, but then really kick into gear. Much more hectic and intense than Modern Warfare. Afterwards, we’re treated to some snowmobile action – very awesome stuff. Before Modern Warfare 2 leaves our sights, however, we’re told that the game will have timed exclusive map packs on Xbox Live.

Now comes Final Fantasy XIII. Yup, we’ve got another playthrough. Kinda strange to see the game running on a 360 in English when we were told by Square Enix that they wouldn’t start development on the 360 version until after the release of the PS3 version in Japan, but nobody really cares. The game looks better than what we got to play on the FFXIII demo, we even get to see some new stuff we haven’t seen yet. Very good stuff, especially thanks to the announced release date of Spring 2010.

On comes Cliffy B and BigPark to announce Shadow Complex and Joy Ride, respectively. The former is a 2.5D XBLA-exclusive game that’s a mixture between Bionic Commando and Metroid. We’re promised a ten hour long campaign, huge boss fights and glitch-free gameplay (unlike the demo). Joy Ride is basically for Avatars what Wii Sports is for Mii’s – take your Avatars and chuck them inside cars and race away! We’re told it’s free to both play and download, kinda like 1 vs. 100.

After that comes a slew of trailers… First Crackdown 2, then Left4Dead 2, then Splinter Cell Conviction… All three are amazing looking, definite day one purchases across the board. While the Crackdown 2 trailer has no gameplay, the other two do and Splinter Cell Conviction in particular looks amazing. For a game that spent a lot of time off our radars, this is probable the best way ever to recapture our attention. Now we see Forza 3, a lot of time spent on discussing and describing the incredible customisation options that will be available in the game come October. Halo 3 ODST then hits the big screen, gameplay and all, with the Halo Reach teaser showing afterwards. Alan Wake is then played, plenty of atmosphere evident from the off. Gameplay is really well done, players required to expose enemies to light before they can kill them.

That’s basically it in terms of awesomeness from Microsoft’s E3 Conference! Next up, Nintendo!

First up from Nintendo is NEW Super Mario Bros. Wii. The first multiplayer sidescrolling Mario adventure, allowing players to carry each other and even share power ups. Hopefully this means four times the traditional amount of enemies, eh? If co-op isn’t your kind of thing, there’s a Competitive mode where you compete to collect the most coins during levels… We’re not told if you can steal points off each other by jumping on heads or anything. Would be a nice addition, anyway.

Wii Fit takes to the stage, bores us all with sales figures and the announcement of the excuse of a rerelease – Wii Fit Plus. Highlights? 15 new balance games with a bundle being released this fall. After Wii Fit Plus, Reggie comes onto the stage to further discuss Wii Motion Plus. What we’re shown is impressive, albeit boring. Wii Sports Resort is shown, with skydiving and archery among other games.

Up comes a slew of RPGs – a Final Fantasy title and a Kingdom Hearts one for the Wii, as well as Mario and Luigi RPG 3 and Golden Sun DS. Yes, you really did hear me right. Golden Sun DS. Want me to repeat that again? The game many of us, me especially, have been waiting for since mid-2003 is finally confirmed. This, for me, is the biggest news of the entire E3 event. A trailer is shown, a sweeping look at Vale before showing us to a cave. Isaac is the protagonist once again, it would appear, and we’re shown some very beautiful Summons. Golden Sun DS is now completely 3D and looks just as good as FFIV did, and doesn’t seem to have lost any of the charm. Sadly, we didn’t get to see any in-battle gameplay, but that’s probably to stop any plot spoilers regarding further protagonists… I just really, REALLY hope we can transfer save data from The Lost Age. We’re given a tentative Western release sometime next year, so I’m personally hotly anticipating a Japanese release before the end of this year.

Next comes some more DS games I didn’t really pay much attention to, thanks to still getting over the shock of the Golden Sun DS announcement. One game was called Women’s Murder Club, a visual novel based upon a James Patterson novel, with the other being Cop: The Recruit – basically a Driver game with a storyline ripped from The Fast and the Furious for all intents and purposes… There’s a quick trailer for another game, something to do with fashion, but that’s about it. The next two games, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 3 and WarioWare DIY, both show up with a neat little twist in that players can make their own levels and whatnot. I assume these levels will be shareable across WiFi and stuff.

After this, Nintendo slips into it’s normal mode of boring announcements that nobody cares about… But then they shock us all with not one, but two major Wii game announcements. Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M. The former is a game that seems to bridge all Mario games before it. The level designs are really beautiful, as well as highly nostalgic, and there’s even Yoshi to ride! The latter is, we’re told, developed by none other than Team Ninja. Encompassing both third and first person sections, the game looks like a lot of fun from what we’re shown. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on that one.

That’s Nintendo done! Finally, here’s Sony!

They run a montage of footage at first, showing off a large variety of PS3 and PSP games… After that, Tretton takes to the stage and jokes about the leaks. An impressive 364 games will be released on the PS3, PSP and PS2 over the course of 2009, with 35 being exclusives, we’re told before more talk of figures and charts and whatnot. He also points out the PS2′s pricepoint and how it’s getting 100 new games this year.

In comes an actual playthrough of Uncharted 2! Seriously, this game looks incredible without a doubt. The levels are large and dynamic, the game itself far more hectic than I remember Uncharted being… I know bigger and better is the way to go with sequels and, from this one level, it seems like Naughty Dog have hit the mark. There’s an air of tension as you’re being chased constantly by an attack chopper, dodging fire from both that and the many armed soldier dudes that pop up every couple of rooms. There’s quite literally no room to breathe and I love that! After that, we’re given a playthrough of MAG. Sad to say, after the Uncharted 2 playthrough, MAG looks really tame. The only important thing to note is that the playthrough was a full 256 player battle and there was no lag whatsoever.

Now Kaz Hirai comes along, “announces” the PSP Go. The console is small compared to the standard PSP. Much like Nintendo did with the DSi, Kaz stresses that the PSP Go will not replace the PSP. 16Gb internal memory, bluetooth, Wifi, expandable memory slot… New media applications to make things run much smoother. The biggest problem? A $250 pricepoint. I don’t know how anyone can justify buying a new PSP for that much when it has no compatibility with any existing PSP software. I assume that PSP owners will just have to repurchase any games they already have if they want to play them on the PSP Go.

Now for some PSP games… Gran Turismo PSP finally shows up, full scale with 800 cars over 35 tracks and at 60fps. Plenty of awesome extras, like Ad-Hoc multiplayer and trading. If that wasn’t enough for PSP owners, Kojima announcing Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker should be. Set ten years after MGS3, players will control Big Boss as the leader of the Militaires Sans Frontieres – his own private army, hired by an unknown army. All we do know is that this game will chart the birth and rise of Outer Haven. Kojima couldn’t stress enough that this is no spin-off, or side story, that this is a full game on the PSP – even being made by the people behind MGS4. Leaves me wondering who’s making Rising, if the best of Kojima’s men are working on Peace Walker… Before the PSP onslaught ends, we’re treated to another slew of reannouncements as well as a tease of Resident Evil hitting the console.

Rockstar’s new secret game thing called Agent is then announced before we see a really awesome video of Assassin’s Creed 2. After that, Square Enix announces FFXIV… Yup, they’re announcing Final Fantasy 14 before Final Fantasy 13 is even out. It’s an MMO and looks very traditional medieval, as opposed to the futuristic approach of recent Final Fantasy games. ModRacers is then announced, called the LBP of the racing world.

Team Ico formally announce The Last Guardian, the trailer used being a far more advanced looking version of the leaked one from a while back. The game actually looks really beautiful. To top off their already impressive Conference, Sony then shows a playthrough of God of War’s first level. Everything you’d expect from the game is there, visceral combat and plenty of QTEs. Very incredible looking, brilliant detail and great designs. My only reservation is that the demo, for that’s what it is, is played in the exact same way the other three demos for God of War games play. The only difference is that the giant monster boss you fight at the end is one of the Titans.

And that’s it for E3! What did you think? Tell us your opinions of E3 in the comments, and don’t forget to tell us what your game of the show was! A very special thanks to

Resident Evil 5, the newest iteration of the greatest survival horror series has a lot to live up to… Read on to find out if it’s worthy of standing beside its big brothers or if its the black sheep of the series.
The Resident Evil series is one of the most long-standing and prestigeous games within the survival horror genre. When it first arrived on the scene back in ’96, gamers around the world were creeped out by the logic-defying puzzles and brilliantly designed enemies. The first game basically defined the genre by itself, and every game since then has refined the genre further – our first trip into Raccoon City showed us multiple perspectives as well as multiple scenarios with which to play through while our second trip gave us a feeling of suspense not unlike that we felt while playing Clocktower. After various spin offs, from the Outbreak files to Veronica, the series finally came back with Resident Evil 4. Acclaimed as one of the best games ever, it rejuvenated the series in ways nobody thought possible.

This progressive, er, progression of the series is one of its many allures, to be short. So when Resident Evil 5 was announced, fans were told to expect to fear the light as much as they had feared the darkness. Expectations were incredibly high, so Capcom had a lot of work to do if they wanted to appease their fans. Did they do what they set out to do? We’d have to say, sadly, no. While Resident Evil 5 is a very good game, there are many things that make it fall short of the greatness that the series is reknowned for. For every great thing it achieves, it seems to fail in achieving many others. While many say it isn’t right to compare two different games, that in itself is the nature of gauging how well a game fits into the series it hails from.

The very first thing that fans of the series will notice is the heavy shift in the focus of the game. Cooperative play drives this entry, whether beside an AI partner or someone from the real world, and you won’t find yourself walking anywhere alone for more than a few moments. This adds to the game in some ways, in that some bosses require clever teamwork and the satisfaction of surviving tough situations is doubled when you have someone to share the moment with. Sadly, as well, this removes all possibility of atmosphere. There won’t be any nervous moments of apprehension as you hear the bated breath of Regenerators, nor will there be a chill going down your spine as you see what’s coming. It’s a shame, really, since that was always a strength of the series – setting up the atmosphere, keeping you on your toes, only to throw you into an incredible scenario that you can’t get enough of. Resident Evil 5, in keeping with the mantra of accessible gameplay for short (twenty minutes max) periods of multiplayer gameplay, however deems it more appropriate to concentrate heavily on combat – progression within the game is marked much more by how many waves of enemies you’ve killed than anything else and there’s only one chapter in the entire game with any actual puzzles.

Upgrading your weaponry was a highlight of Resident Evil 4, the entire system being incredibly intuitive, simple to use and bolstered by one of the quirkiest characters in the series to date. Weapons had a certain level of upgrades (between none and four, depending on the gun) for their firepower, rate of fire, reload speed and capacity. Upon fully upgrading a weapon, you would unlock an exclusive weapon for that gun and that gun alone – ranging from boosts to firepower and ammo capacity to increased range or piercing power. In Resident Evil 5, however, there is no Merchant. You may only upgrade your weapons either before or after each chapter or after you die. No longer restricted to simply “levelling up” your gun’s stats, you now increase the stats over inconsistent increments (one upgrade could increase the firepower by 150, the next by 400 before dropping down to 200). Upon fully upgrading a weapon in Resident Evil 5, you unlock nothing further until you’ve beaten the game once – afterwards, any gun that has been maxed out can then use unlimited ammunition. Sadly, after you’ve beaten the game a single time, generally a weapon’s only important statistic is its firepower (since you become John Wayne, never needing to reload).

In terms of difficulty, it’s safe to say that Resident Evil 5 is abysmal. Amateur fits the name of the mode perfectly, as you’ll never find anything of any remote challenge and you’ll probably finish the game in less than four hours without even attempting to speed run. Normal, sadly, isn’t much better at all and Veteran feels more like what Normal should have been. Veteran, in itself, is a mode that seems to vary in terms of consistency of challenge. Most areas are very simple to get through without getting a scratch, while there are a few areas here and there with some interesting challenge. For many long-time fans of the series, Professional Mode is where the real challenge should lie. Sadly, that mode is marred by the worst problem that could ever afflict a game’s hardest difficulty. Professional Mode isn’t necessarily harder, it’s just easier to die. As most of the game is easy to get through on Veteran without a scratch, and Professional uses the same enemy placements and toughness from Veteran, you’ll find that (as long as you beat Veteran) you’ll know everything coming your way and will get through 90% of the game without getting hit even once. The only time you’re ever likely to die is in one of the very few chapters (such as 5-2) that prove difficult to not get hit in if you either lack the proper approach or a suitable partner willing to risk themselves as you do – you won’t, after all, get far in Professional during these chapters by playing safe. Ammo scarcity, something that has always been in the series – even in RE4 – is a thing of the past as well. Guns can be bought indefinitely, then sold on. You keep the ammo, of course, so 8’000 Gold will net you 200 machine gun bullets or 12 Magnum rounds (between two and four full clips, depending on the price of the gun, basically). This is a major shame because, as fans are well aware, one of the greatest appeals of the magnum was how hard the ammo was to come by. You had to save every bullet of that gun in case you got into a tight situation. But now, in Resident Evil 5, you can use it as if it were a handgun with heavy recoil. Did I mention the first section of 4-1 yields at least 16’700 Gold every single time?

Story-wise, I’d have to say the game is incredibly weak. Sheva’s inclusion into the series is very strange and doesn’t really make much sense at all. Honestly, Claire would have been much better in that position – the brother/sister relationship being stronger than this pseudo-nonsense about partners (after you’ve played through the game once, you’ll probably want to shoot yourself whenever you hear that word thanks to the overuse). The antagonists of the game, as well, lack the charm that the antagonists from Resident Evil 4 had. Even Wesker is weak in this game, personality-wise, a stark comparison to his awesomeness in older games. The other major players are just forgettable, though. None of them have the charisma of, say, Salazar, Birkin or Nemesis and you feel almost no emotional attachment to anyone in the game (save for one character).

Overall, Resident Evil 5 is a good game. It has plenty of replay value, more than enough unlockables to keep even the most rabid of collectors content and the fun really only begins after you’ve beaten the game once. Alone, this is a action horror title that tacked on the Resident Evil name for quick sales. With a human partner, this is one of the most fun games you’ll play this year. The game is geared more towards playing with a friend than on your own and the structure and pace of the game is shifted accordingly. But this is no Resident Evil game, even if it shares a few characters with the series. The atmosphere is gone, the challenge is gone, and all-in-all Resident Evil 5 feels like Capcom tried to make a game better than Mikami’s masterpiece by using parts OF that masterpiece. It’s just a shame they went and picked the wrong parts.

Another month is quickly passing by, and a new one is upcoming. I’m doing this earlier than I thought I would, but whatever!

Starting on this list I’ll also be including interesting import titles from Japan and Europe as well (for the importers out there).

The multi-platform games are at the bottom of the list.

If you see anything missing from the list, don’t hesitate to tell me in the comments and I’ll try to make this list as up-to-date as possible.

Read on after the link!

DS
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume

Played a bit of the japanese version. It has elements from previous Valkyrie Profile titles, but is played in a Startegy RPG style. Interesting mix, should be a good game

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

I didn’t like GTAIV. The last GTA title I liked was 2, when it was still in 2D. This seems a bit like a throwback to those days, so it might be worth checking out.

Suikoden Tierkreis

Not a big Suikoden fan. Didn’t like the only Suikoden game I played (I think it was 5) bored me to death. But I’m adding this here since Suikoden is still quite popular.

Pokemon Platinum

Pokemon! Yay! The obligatory “third version” each generation of Pokemon gets (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald and now Platinum), will hopefully be a good enough upgrade.

Broken Sword: Shadows of the Templars (Director’s Cut)
(the original art from the PC version, for the lulz)
A remake of the 1996 adventure game. Potentially interesting.

Space Invaders Extreme 2 (japan)
(no boxart)
Space Invaders Extreme was a… rather interesting take on the classic. Japan gets first dibs on this one, but I’ll make sure to check it out.

PSP
Phantasy Star Portable

Never played Phantsy Star games for very long, other than Phantasy Star Online on the Gamecube. But this could be pretty fun.

Resistance: Retribution

Wintrale posted impressions of the demo, and it seems like it will be a good PSP game.

Mana Khemia: Student Alliance

If you didn’t play the PS2 version yet, well it’s coming to the PSP, probably with extra content, so it’s pretty interesting. Pretty similar to Atelier Iris is many aspects, but it’s a good game.

Patapon 2 (Europe)

Coming in Europe a whole 2 months before America (why?), the wildly popular Patapon game is getting a sequel, could be worht importing.

Dragon Ball The Movie (japan)

Damn this movie looks stupid. Very stupid. Series-ruiningly stupid. But the game, from the one video I saw, doesn’t look too bad. We’ll see. It seems like it’ll at LEAST be better than the movie.

Makai Senki Disgaea 2 Portable (japan)
(no boxart for now)
Yay, Disgaea! The second in the series gets a portable version like the first one. It will no doubt have extra content, and in less than a year a DS version would probably come out with even more content. Not very import friendly, but if you know japanese, well worth checking out.

Wii
Madworld

Not sure if it’s actually coming out in March, but that’s what the Sega website is saying. This looks like it could be pretty fun.

Sonic and the Black Knight

This will most likely not be too good, like Sonic and the Secret Rings. But this time Sonic has a sword and every other character looks really stupid.

New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis

Hmm… Well, Mario Power Tennis was definitely not as fun as the first one (though removing the power shots really helped), but it was still pretty good. So hopefully they didn’t screw it all up with Wii controls (which is what will probably happen). Budget priced.

New Play Control! Pikmin

Pikmin was an early Gamecube title, and it was pretty fun. Don’t know what the Wii controls will be like, but they can’t REALLY screw it up, right? Budget priced as well.

Ready 2 Rumble Revolution

LET’S GET READY TO RUUMBLEEEEEE! I actually didn’t play the original titles in the series, so I don’t know what they’re like, but hopefully it’s gonna be better than Facebreaker >_>

Rune Factory Frontier

So I never played Rune Factory, but from what I understand it’s Harvest Moon + RPG elements. Could be interesting

Phantom Brave Wii (japan)
(grossly resized version of the non-final boxart for the US version… nice) http://www.nisamerica.com/images/email/pb_cover_draft_bg.jpg
For those people who can play imports and understand Japanese, this is a great Strategy RPG by the creators of Disgaea. Really fun and quite original.

PS3

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3
(360 box)
Finally it comes out on the PS3, after being out for a little while on both PC and Xbox360. Apparently it has new content exclusive to the PS3 (for now at least).

Burn Zombie Burn!

I really just put this here because of the title. Seems similar to games like Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3. But with zombies. So it should be interesting.

Musou Orochi Z (japan)
(No boxart on this one yet)
If you’re a fan of the series, why not? It’s in japanese though, but it shouldn’t be that hard to play anyways. And the title ends with a Z, so it has to be awesome

Battle Fantasia (Europe)
(360 box)
Battle Fantasia coming earlier in Europe than it does in America on the PS3(heck, it’s not even announced in America yet). If you don’t have it on your 360 yet and want to play it in
english, it could be worth getting. It’s a fun game.

Xbox 360
Halo Wars

A console RTS. Based on the Halo universe. Judging from the demo, it should work pretty well. Worth trying out.

PC
Empire: Total War

By the same guys who brought us Shogun: Total War and a few others in the series a while ago. Should be fun.

Crysis: Maximum Edition
(no box art for this one)
Crysis was a pretty interesting FPS with good graphics. Well now you can get the game with the expansions in one pack. Fun.

The Last Remnant
(360 box for this one)
If you didn’t pick this up on the 360, it’s coming to the PC. Probably with fewer graphical problems.

Multi-Platform!
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (Wii/DS)

Not really sure about that one. The second Crystal Chronicles on the Gamecube was pretty bad, but the second on DS was a big improvement. And this is a strange multiplayer game that you can play on DS and Wii at the same time. Nice.

Guitar Hero: Metallica (PS3/360/Wii)

If you like Metallica, why not? Has a good enough setlist, with some good songs that aren’t from Metallica.

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel (PS3/360)
(only checked for the PC version’s box)
Didn’t really like the PC version. Some weird choices and overall not as fun as I thought it would be. But if you want a Diablo-like RPG on console, worth checking out.

Resident Evil 5 (PS3/360)

Judging from the demo, this game will be great. Though I’m not getting it, because I suck at RE games, I know this will be a really good game.

Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard (PS3/360)

It seems to take a lot from Gears of War, and various references of video games. It seems like a parody of sorts, and the character knows he’s in a game. But at 50$ it might be a bit much.

Wet (PS3/360)

Not sure about that one, there’s little info on it other than like 3 seconds of gameplay and 1 trailer with no gameplay. But it’s about a girl kicking ass with swords and guns, so it could be interesting. We’ll see.

Â

Resident Evil Degeneration is Capcom’s answer to the Hollywood smash hit take on the survival horror franchise that has revolutionised the genre time and time again. Instead of Alice and her telekinetic powers, we see a pre-Resident Evil 4 Leon team up with an old friend to combat a new outbreak. Is this film the true film adaptation of Resident Evil? Or is it as lifeless as a zombie? Read on to find out…

Note: Beware of a few spoilers.

The film’s premise is quite a simple one. In a post-Raccoon City Incident world, Umbrella have fallen and new companies are vying for it’s position as the leading pharmaceutical corporation in the world – with WilPharma leading the charge, so to speak, with the promise that they have taken extra precautions to prevent a similar catastrophe to Umbrella. There’s also some news regarding the usual terrorist stuff thrown in there for good measure. The story begins properly when a viral outbreak occurs at an unnamed Airport in mid-Western America, which just so happens to be where Claire Redfield has arrived. As things take their turn, the virus spreads out as zombies start eating more people within the Airport. Before long, the Special Response Team comes to the Airport and cordon it off to prevent the spread of the infection. With them, by order of the President himself, is Leon Kennedy. Graphically, everyone in the film looks spectacular – the zombies are very well designed, with a great variety and plenty of detail in regards to disfigurements, and the main cast are extremely well done. Leon looks drastically different to how he does in Resident Evil 4, with far more detail in his face and composure, even though he has the same voice actor and the same attire. It’s not so hard to believe he has the most attention to detail in terms of design, given how popular Leon is and how much of screentime he has. Claire is similarly detailed, her attire being quite different to what we remember her wearing back in RE2, with a more detailed body overall. The only problem I have with how the characters look in the film is that some of them look too fake – almost as if the guys at Capcom were trying to hard to get a realistic appearance for some characters.

The plot of the film moves along very nicely, being far better paced and interesting than the Hollywood counterparts, with some nice twists and turns throughout and some cliché scenes line the lot to give a very good and very full feel overall. The connection various characters have are surprising, to be honest, with Leon and Claire’s relationship not actually taking centre stage for much of the film. The script is very solid, even if it does change how certain characters behave, with very few corny lines in it at all and the voice actors all deliver their roles perfectly – fans of Crispin Freeman should keep an ear out for his role as Frederic Downing, an important yet small role in the film. In stark contrast to the wonderfully played out vocals, one of the film’s biggest issues seems to be motion capture – surprising, given how the credits place a lot of emphasis on the work that had been done. While for the most part the characters move about quite well, there are certain scenes where they either walk worse than the zombies do or they move in a strangely detached way. It can really break the mood at times. Thankfully, that’s where the music comes into play. A collection of gentle tunes line the majority of the film, offering the kind of soundtrack that really does complement the film well. When the action picks up, so does the music. In place of the relaxed tunes are stronger, more vibrant ones. Tetsuya Takahashi wrote all of the music in the film, proving how outstanding he is at composing. The action sequences in this film are definitely the highlights, showing us why Leon and Claire survived Raccoon City through their use. Leon, for example, easily dispatches of all the zombies he comes across with single shots to the head. Used as a mechanic to underscore just how professional and badass Leon is, are the two SRT soldiers who are armed with better guns yet kill far less zombies – spending more time spreading fire than anything else. In another scene, we’re shown how skilled Claire is with a gun, when she deftly takes care of a trio of zombies while also protecting a survivor from harm.

Overall, Resident Evil Degeneration is what fans of the series have been looking for. It’s a great representation of the franchise with better set pieces and battles than their Hollywood counterpart. I’d highly suggest this to any fan of the series as well as anyone who would like to watch a good zombie flick. While this won’t beat out films like Dawn of the Dead, it does its job very well and delivers on its promise.
