Games coming in may 2014

April 27th, 2014 No comments

May is gonna be a pretty busy month for me… and that’s not gonna be because of video games at all. I bought a house and I’m moving in during the month of may. So I’m actually kinda thankful that the game releases aren’t too fast this month.

So as for games, there are: 1 Wii U game, 2 3DS game, 4 Vita games. 2 PS3 games and 3 multiplats. Not too much.

Read on and see what you’ll be grabbing!

Usual disclaimer: Those include either games I’m interested in and games that may be/become popular and random stuff in-between… Basically anything I feel bears mentioning, whether I’m personally hyped for it or not.

Thief review

March 6th, 2014 No comments

thief teef crap
So a new Thief game came out. I was not excited for it, and all of the impressions from Thief fans were negative each time the game was shown off.

I’m a HUGE Thief fan myself, but I appreciate the older games quite a bit, they’re really well made and offer a stealth experience unlike almost anything else on the market. I’m not sure what possessed me to do it, but I ended up picking up the new game, in hopes that maybe the hate from fans was unfounded.

It wasn’t. Read on and see why!

(note: I only played up to chapter 6, I wasn’t able to convince myself to play through the rest)

7th Generation Send-off: Badass Downloadable games

November 5th, 2013 No comments

I ignored these for the 2 previous posts, because they’re a pretty new thing for consoles and deserve a list of their own this time… and those posts were long enough as they were. This includes games that are downloadable-only, so generally games in the 10-20$ range that aren’t available at retail.

Note: No particular order

August 31st, 2013 No comments

Oh damn, I’m late on this. Month went fast, big days at work, stuff like that… But the big release season of the year is starting, there’s a lot of stuff coming in the following months.

So in September we’re getting: 2 Wii U releases, 4 Vita releases, 3 PS3 releases and 8 multiplatform releases.

So… Let’s see what’s coming!

Usual disclaimer: Those include either games I’m interested in, or games that may be/become popular… Basically anything I feel bears mentioning, whether I’m personally hyped for it or not.

Games coming out in April 2013

March 24th, 2013 No comments

This is a pretty empty month surprisingly, but there’s a couple cool releases upcoming… Oh, and kickstarter backers such as I will be getting their OUYA consoles near the beginning of the month so you can expect a post where I’ll bash the console! … Probably.

Either way… In April we’re getting: 2 3DS titles, a Vita game, a PS3 game, a 360 game and 3 multiplats. As I said, slow month.

Usual disclaimer: Those include either games I’m interested in, or games that may be/become popular… Basically anything I feel bears mentioning, whether I’m personally hyped for it or not. I’m probably missing some stuff (generally the more indie stuff).

Let’s go!

Games coming out in March 2013

February 26th, 2013 No comments

Well this has been a slow month of posting… I’ve been playing a couple RPGs so I haven’t really had time to post too much at all (gameplay time is low when you have a full-time job). Ni No Kuni and Fire Emblem reviews still possibly upcoming though, eventually I might actually play those to completion.

On that note, let’s talk about upcoming releases in March! Here we’re getting: 4 3DS games, 3 PS3 games, 2 PC games, a 360 game, 1 Wii U games, a Vita game, a Wii game, and finally 6 multiplatform games… OH and I think the Ouya is coming out for kickstarter backers in March… but who cares?

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed review

January 13th, 2013 No comments

Good non-Mario kart racers are rare (though I haven’t played LBPKarting yet so maybe that’s another good one), but it’s always fun to see them. This is a sequel to the 2010 Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing, which was a solid racing game for sure.

So… let’s just jump in straight into the review!

Note that I played both the Wii U and Vita versions, but they’re essentially identical so take it as a review for any of the currently-released versions (as of January 13th 2013)….

Other note, I’m calling this Sonic Kart 2 from now on, hope you don’t mind.

Games of the Year 2012!

December 25th, 2012 1 comment

Wow, this year kinda sucked… In a way.
Usually I do a lot of GotY posts, with one per major system/handheld and one for multiplat releases (since including multiplat releases in “best of X system” awards is retarded GameTrailers), as well as overall winners, with 3-5 winners in each category if possible (because I feel it’s ridiculous to call anything a “best” game, and I like choice). This year there just aren’t enough great games for that.

Not to say there weren’t good games, but very few that I feel were good enough to be in the running for GotY. So, due to that, I decided to go at it in a very simple manner and do one post, and maybe put a couple honorable mentions at the bottom for games I didn’t feel were GotY caliber.

So… let’s go with this year’s winners right away!

(Please note: I may not have played every game that came out in 2012, so sorry if I missed anything that you feel should win… oh, and FUCK Journey and FUCK anyone who likes that vapid non-game POS… yes, that means you Jim Sterling)

Dishonored review

October 28th, 2012 No comments

I wasn’t interested by this game when it was first announced, and even through the first few trailers and gameplay videos. It was only at this year’s E3 where I looked at more information and more comprehensive gameplay videos that I really got any hype for it and finally pre-ordered it when I found a good deal.

Close to release a piece of news about this game was rather distressing, about focus testers who sucked at the game to the point of not doing anything without the game telling them, so the developers added handholding… frankly that worried me about the final product becoming a streamlined piece of crap… But I kept my pre-order on and hoped for the best.

Was I happy about my purchase? Read on and see!

Games coming out in November 2012

October 21st, 2012 No comments

November is always when the biggest blockbusters of the year come out! … So why is there NOTHING coming out this November? I mean, there’s a new console, sure, but there are very few strong releases, or even releases at all, otherwise… it’s rather surprising… GAMING COMPANIES, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING! Needless to say I’ll be a bit negative in this post, sorry ’bout that 😛

So here we have: a new console with 23-ish games at launch (maybe 2 of which are noteworthy), 3 3DS games, 2 Vita games, 1 PSP game, 5 multiplatform games, 1 PS3 game, one PS3 accessory, and finally 1 360 game. It’s extraordinarily low compared to usual Novembers, and there’s really not much that’s really noteworthy at all.

Usual disclaimer: Those include either games I’m interested in, or games that may be/become popular… Basically anything I feel bears mentioning, whether I’m personally hyped for it or not. No “shovelware” here… I mean, there’s 2 Call of Duty titles this month, but otherwise, no shovelware.

Let’s Go!
